T01-YA-TEACHER-ERYT-500-1Angie Ackerman is a Yoga Association of Alberta (YAA) Permanent Senior Teacher. She was one of the first ERYT 500’s teaching in Northern Alberta. ERYT 500 is the highest level of training teacher offered by the Yoga Alliance (YA).

  • Yoga Association of Alberta
  • Gerda Krebs Apprenticeship

  • YIN Yoga

Angie was the sole Remedial Faculty at Yoga for Today Teacher Training Program from 2005-2008. In 2009/10 she facilitated the program as well as monthly intensives at From Within (2010/11). She is proud to be offering a one-of-a-kind quality program at Breathe!  Its foundation and focus is training yoga teachers “how to teach” a safe and effective yoga class.

Angie believes in practicing what you teach and therefore attends several yoga classes/week, as well as weekend workshops and ongoing training. Curiosity brought Angie to her first yoga class. It was love at first try. The meditative and spiritual qualities of the practice have kept her dedicated. Yoga completely changed her life. She gave up a successful (stressful) career to share her passion for yoga with others. As a little girl Angie dreamt of being a teacher and now she is living that dream.

Breathe Yoga

August 2022 UPDATE

I have unexpectedly returned to Alberta and will be offering a 9-month Hatha Teacher Training on Wednesday Mornings starting September 21st.  Please stay tuned for further updates!

Dear Students, Friends and Colleagues,

On May 5, 2020 I moved to Victoria, BC and retired from teaching public classes.   I am available as an advisor, life coach, mentor and trainer. I will remain the Yoga Expert for BC Ministry of Advanced Education.

Thank you for your dedication, support and allowing me to share my passion with you.

Intention – to stretch, breathe, relax, and cultivate awareness. A work IN rather than a workout!
Philosophy – Hatha (physical) yoga was developed to prepare the body to sit comfortably in meditation. To that end our practice is focused on sitting and floor postures.
Purpose – to provide a safe place for people to find themselves
